Katrina Van Humbeck Music

Katrina Van Humbeck is a vocalist, composer, piano player, clinician, and educator based in Winnipeg, MB. She creates her own unique brand of Jazz Fusion, with a dose of Inspiration. Her music has earned her nominations with the GMA Canada (Gospel Music Awards 2022- Jazz Artist of The Year), and with the WCMA (Western Canadian Music Awards 2020- Spiritual Artist of The Year).
-Katrina has four studio recorded albums of original songs to her credit: Only Love (2025); Stronger Still (2022); her sophomore album, Doing A New Thing (2018); and her debut album, Blue & Beyond (2017); all of which reflect influences of the jazz greats and her background in various musical genres.  Katrina is thrilled to have released her album, ‘Only Love,’ which is a collection of classic straight-ahead jazz standards and original compositions.
-Katrina’s music is inspired by the themes of love, courage, faith and living life. She started songwriting after the death of her mother in 2016 and she never stopped. Whether she is performing solo, in a trio, or with a full ten-piece band, she delights in entertaining audiences around Winnipeg and abroad with classic jazz standards, adult contemporary songs from the American songbook, and her original compositions.

-Katrina has performed and collaborated with some of Canada’s finest jazz musicians, including the Ron Paley Quartet, JUNO nominated Larry Roy (guitar), Richard Gillis (Founder of the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra), Karl Kohut (Assistant professor of bass / University of Manitoba), Rodrigo Muñoz (founder of Papa Mambo Latin Band), and Jonathan Alexiuk (multi-instrumentalist /arranger).

-Katrina possesses a B.A. Hons in Theatre / Music performance (University of Winnipeg), B. Ed (University of Manitoba), and a Micro-Certificate in Songmaking (Desautels Faculty of Music, University of Manitoba).
