Katrina Van Humbeck, Vocalist / Songwriter / Pianist / and Album Producer has finally found her stride in establishing herself as a jazz artist with her new album, ‘Only Love.’

Katrina’s vocal skills, solid album production, and songwriting prowess have earned her nominations with Gospel Music Awards Canada (Jazz Artist of the year 2022), and with the Western Canadian Awards (Spiritual Artist of the Year 2020), for her previous three albums ‘Stronger Still,’ ‘Doing A New Thing,’ and ‘Blue and Beyond.’ 

This new album, ‘Only Love,’ proudly boasts subtle vocal nuances, tender expressiveness, and creatively crafted compositions in a cozy, classic jazz style, that will remind us of days gone by.  Impacted by the voices and sounds of the jazz greats, and a desire to compose music that fits into that era, Katrina brought her own flare to cherished classic jazz standards, and her carefully crafted compositions that will take you back to vintage days of long ago.

“I’m thrilled to have recorded this music at award winning Private Ear Recording in Winnipeg, MB., along with three of Canada’s finest jazz musicians,” explains Katrina. 

“Recording music in a quartet with JUNO nominated Larry Roy on guitar, Karl Kohut (Professor of jazz Studies at the University of Manitoba) on upright bass, seasoned jazz musician Jim Johnston on drums, and myself on vocals and piano was a dream come true.  I can confidently say that I’ve finally found my stride in establishing myself as a jazz artist with this new album, ‘Only Love.”
